Handing One Another Along
Vicki is a sought-after advisor, teacher, philanthropist, and changemaker who has spent her life leveraging the power of art and story to fundamentally improve our world at every level. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School and later spent five years as the Head Teaching Fellow at Harvard University for renowned child psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Coles, where she worked with hundreds of college students and provided leadership to dozens of other teaching fellows. She was a recipient of the Derek Bok Award for Excellence in Teaching in every one of her years at Harvard and subsequently became a Derek Bok Fellow, helping college teachers hone their craft. In 2010, Vicki co-edited a collection of Dr. Coles’ lectures into the book titled, Handing One Another Along, published by Random House.
Among her many appointments, Vicki was a member of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities during both of President Obama's two terms. In that role, she served as Head of the Subcommittee on Education and helped launch the National Youth Arts and Humanities Awards. She is a Board member of the Los Angeles-based, A Sense of Home, was a Founding Board Member of Tree Academy, and is a Co-founder of the Go Campaign whose work supports local heroes that are making life better for our world's most vulnerable communities. Vicki was also an active champion in the development, mission, and launch of the Robert Kennedy Community Schools in Los Angeles, California.
Vicki knows the college admissions process extremely well having raised three kids, all of whom went on to enjoy successful college careers. Since then, she has become a trusted college essay writing consultant, providing guidance to students aspiring to gain admission into some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the world.
